It's the little things... that tell us the most about the Middlers

It was Christmas night, and all through the camp not a creature was stirring, except for the mice. The wind was blowing and canvas was loose, it wouldn't be long until the kitchen was gone.

Washington state winds were blowing with a mighty strength. Tents were lost. The occupiers who stayed in camp (some didn't, they went 'home') did so at their peril. On the following day I spoke with the designate camp working group go to guy. He was discouraged. He asked me where all the support was. He said he felt forgotten. He said 'we didn't even get christmas dinner'. So.. It is a cold dark wet windy christmas for some... the 'usual' some, and the rest, the middle class who have an address took their holiday break. And those of us who live day to day, those 'some of us' who hold down the camp that is spoken of poetically on the 'webpage', well... as usual we can be forgotten or just put off.

So, I went through our kitchen and pulled out the soup I've been letting accumulate, just in case, and threw it all in a pot. When it was just close enough to a boil I wrapped it in tin foil, put it in a paper bag, and then the reusable grocery bag and sent it down to the camp. We're going to cross our fingers and hope our food stamps get us through the next two weeks.

That's the jest of it, isn't it. Those of us who know what the occupy needs to accomplish through personal experience, are the ones holdin on and 'supporting' each other with our meager resources. The middle class crew is wasting time in the GA protecting and fighting for what they want to be able to maintain the addresses they hold... they don't stop to think about those who have already lost their addresses or are stressed to the max as they near the loss of their address. But, try telling that to someone who is warm every night and expects to be warm every night all winter.  It's near crazy how its those who dominate the front of that Occupy GA.

On a cold windy night of distruction.... the supporters of Bellingham, Washington failed to support, but rest assured they'll be there on 'voting' GA night... warm, feed and taking leadership on the issues.

whatever.
